I didn't understand his answer. How could he not know why he was staring at me? I watched him in a curious manner as he dragged the deer farther into the clearing. My eyes stayed narrow because I didn't know how else to look at him. He was being odd these past days. Zigor removed myself from the focus as he feasted on the deer. We were over-feeding him now. The thought dragged my focus to the subject, as Zigor gorged himself. It was almost sickening to watch how much such a small creator could eat. It wasn't even natural. I looked back over to Zillah to see him drifting off to sleep. I sighed and laid my head down on the ground. I watched him. Curiosity gripping me. Soon Zigor waddled over to me, curling himself in a ball. He fell fast asleep. I was alone now. I wasn't close to being tired, after all I had slept the day away. It seemed like hours were passing. I watched the sky as it became the darkest it could manage, til it became lighted by dawn. It was a relaxing sight. My eyes were slowly closing, and before long everything was a hum in my ear. I heard a shift around me, somewhere in the clearing. It was Zillah. He was leaving. I was tempted to let him go, but it wasn't like him to wonder off. "Zillah? Wut'cha doin?" I asked him in a drowsy voice. My eyes dropped sleepily, just enough to see a black wolf standing there in front of me. I blinked my eyes several times clearing them, and finally a clear image of Zillah appeared at the entrance of the clearing. He was definitely leaving, but for what?

I stopped in the entrance. How would I explain myself. I was awake and exiting the grove while they were sleeping. Whats an excuse i could use. 'Maybe if i just continue to walk...no she'll follow me' "I'm going to find a stream. Zigor's gonna need a bath after last night." Hopefully Zevah would believe the lie. I continued to walk out of the grove and into the forest. I sensed Zevahs presence to my right. "Yes?" I could tell Zevah had something on her mind, and i knew she wanted to talk.

A stream? Was that his excuse? He walked out with out waiting for my reply. I stood up, fogetting that Zigor was practically laying on top of me. I sighed in relief as he didn't stir from sleep. I trotted after Zillah. I walked silently, admiring the stillness of the forest. This reminded me of the nights Zillah and I wondered about for a new home. We were lucky to never be tracked down by the pack. Wolves can't leave the pack. None had been sucessful before Zillah and I. I filed in to his right. It was a standard formation. It generally meant secound in command, but we never went by rank. "Yes?" Zillah's voice interrupted my thought. "A stream, ey? Not the best of lies you've told me here lately. But I didn't follow to lecture you on your lieing skills. I had another dream back there on the ledge. You remember my last dream?" I paused to watch him nod. "Well this time, I was looking down on the pack. I was there, and three pups. You were even there, and so was another wolf. But everyone looked like ghost. I was by the stream, watching the pups play about the water. Then you and another wolf walked up and sat down as the pups ran toward you. Two of the pups immediately ran up to the unknown wolf. But the third... something was wrong with it. It stubbled it's way across the feild, as if it was blind. But who has ever heard of a blind wolf? Well as a pup. This one ran up to you. I watched as I walked over to the third wolf. I must have been concerted to him. The affection that beamed from the both of them. It was almost overwelming. I couldn't see that third wolf. I wanted to go down there. To see who this wolf was that im supposedly concerted to, and the father of my pups. But it was another dream that I couldn't move in." We walked on, but he wasn't walking in the direction of the stream. He was walking toward the cliff. Why would he want to come here alone, while we were sleeping? Had he had a dream? "Zillah? Why are we going to the ledge?" I asked him. He didn't answer straight away, but instead walked at a steady pace. Maybe he was thinking about the dream. If my dream was a premonition then that would mean we would have a pack, and we will meet another wolf. Maybe even a were-wolf.

So that was her latest dream. There was another wolf. I hoped, but it was pointless. "A blind pup? hmm..." I once more buried myself in my thoughts. In my memory, something i remember from when i was a pup. I had tried my best to bury them in my past, forget about my old pack. Memories came rushing back as I continued to walk.
"Zillah? Why are we going to the ledge?" Zevah's voice sounded concerned and slightly confused. I didn't pay her much mind, I was too focused on the ledge. "I am going to the ledge, and I would prefer to be alone while there..." I didn't mean to say it the way it came out, forceful and annoyed. "Please, go look after Zigor. I'll be back later today." Zevah looked at me like she was being left out. I had to, wolves don't have premonition, its just not right.

I was taken aback in my concern for him, and stopped immediately in my tracks. He didn't want me to go with him. What had I done? "I... But..." I tried to find some kind of excuse or something to make him change his mind, but nothing would form in my head. He then told me to go back and watch Zigor. My eyes narrowed in my confusion. "I..." I tried again just before he disappeared behind the foliage. "Okay..." I turned away from him, as reluctant as I was, looking back curiously to see if he was just kidding, but he wasn't. It wasn't like Zillah to seclude me of his company. I had to of said something wrong. I continued my rather slow pace back to the clearing. My ears laid flat in annoyance at the defeat of my confusion. The clearing opened up in front of me to see Zigor was still sleeping. I dragged my feet into the clearing and allowed my legs to collapse. I forced myself to sleep, not wanting to care anymore.
Nothing had come to me while I was asleep. No dream what so ever. Just peaceful, quiet sleep. I was awoken by noises around me. Blinking drowsily, everything was a blur. Zillah still wasn't back. I looked over to Zigor to see him yawn and stretch. He walked over to me to put his tiny paws on my face and look me in the eyes. He suddenly meowed. Cats make the oddest of sounds. I smiled at him, and he suddenly got down and begun to run around the clearing, bounding over me as I got in the way. He was so tiny compared to us wolves that I didn't even feel him. There was a rustle in the bushes at the front of the clearing and my eyes darted to see what it was. A black wolf stepped threw. "Zillah." I said almost finding that same concern I had before. The look he had on his face looked happy but his eyes gave off fear. "What's wrong?" My voice became slightly demanding. I was done with being left out of this. Any time I had a problem he'd demand me to tell him, but if he had one, I practically had to force it out of him.

its been a while, but here goes
I felt kinda bad leaving Zevah behind. Whenever somethings up with her I force her to tell me whats wrong. 'I guess i should've been more open.' But that was all over with, it was at least three hours till dawn and heading back would just take up too much time. I trotted at a brisk pace to the ledge where both of our dreams seemed to intensify.
It got colder as I left the forest, the chill breeze found the patches in my pelt that just weren't as thick. The ledge was just ahead of me. 'Something is wrong... I smell....humans?' It was an awkward smell. Like a stack of matches being lit at the same time. With the smell, came the faint odor of frying fat, beer, and others. I slowly and carefully peaked my head around the lone tree that ended the forest. I saw five humans sitting around a fire. "Why are they asleep? At this hour?" I growled under my breath. Apparently one of the humans heard my growl. He jumped up and spoke to the other humans. I jumped back and ran to the forest, but a little too late. I flinched as light surrounded me. They had seen me. I had to slow my pace down lest they figure out what i really was and try to kill me. I slowly trotted away from the lights edge. I heard some faint whispering, but i was too focused on my task to clearly make it out. Suddenly they all started running after me. I could smell the alcohol on them and broke into a run, I dashed into the forests and sat under a tree about a mile in listening for the humans.Once I could no longer smell the human stench, I slowly went back to the clearing where Zevah and Zigor were.
When i arrived in the clearing Zevah was already awake and Zigor was running around in circles around the clearing. I put a smile on my face and tried to replace the fear of being seen in my eyes to that of glee. I thought i pulled it off when Zevah asked me what was wrong. i couldn't deny her knowledge any more. "Zevah, we have to get back. There were humans in the forest last night and they may be here still." Zevah looked shocked but nodded. She grabbed Zigor who was fighting with a leaf and jogged out of the woods. I followed and tried to keep a lookout for anything wrong
