I laid there on the edge of the cliff, overlooking all of the pine forest. I had come here many times before, sneaking out alone. I watched all the forest creatures go on with their lives. I never dared to step foot in the forest. The memories of my old pack laid so vivid through this forest, yet the pack was never there. There was no signs of predator life. Everything looked calm and comfortable. It was unnatural. Below me, drained a grand water fall from somewhere within the cliffs itself. I would travel the land today. I would outskirt the territory and search what the land offered.
I bounded down the steep cliff with ease, having practiced many times before. This time I wouldn't round the cliff and head back, today, I will follow the pines as far as they stretch.
As I went, I laid my scent. I was cautious enough to check for other scents, but there wasn't any. The first land I bordered was a seemingly endless field. A scent laid across this land, so I added mine to the trunks of the pines. This went on until the land veered off and then I was creating a border separating an oak forest from the pines. No longer would these forests be one, but instead, two parts of a whole. I stopped as I heard running water, and looked up to the sky. It was a little after mid day. I had to hurry and finish here so I could return to Zillah and Zigor. They needed to be notified of my choice. The running water isolated my forest from another forest, one I wouldn't worry about. The river had a fallen log across it that led to more pines, so I crossed it. Once I was on the opposite side of the river I caught the scent of a badger. I noted this to come back later. I'd continue for now. The pines didn't stretch far here and soon I was crossing stepping stones to get back to the other side where the pines continued. The river acted as the border all the way back to the cliff. I checked the sun for the time. It was almost sunset. It was a great amount of land ever for a werewolf to patrol in one day at a steady trot. I finally stopped at the base of the waterfall to drink from the clean waters. It was much more tasty then that of bottled water. I made my way for home but something caught my eye. Behind the waterfall it looked like there was a night sky. I looked up at the sky just to make sure it wasn't night. It wasn't so I immediately walked to the edge of the water, as close as I could get to the waterfall. Then I saw it, a stone ledge leading in behind the waterfall. It was hidden in the shadows of the cliffs. I stepped lightly up onto it, the width of it was barely enough to support a full sized werewolf. What opened up to me was a very large cave. Large enough to houses a small to medium pack. It was magnificent. The cave itself shimmered with light only enough to see the outlines of shapes. Then it hit me. This is the cave in my dream, the dream that haunted me for days. I walked over to a particular spot and laid down. This was the exact cave. The dream suddenly made seance to me. The birth of a pack. One in which, belonged to me, like a mother's cubs belonged to her.
I sat there awhile longer, thinking of what I need to do to form this pack, but it was getting late. I'd be traveling home in the dark now, and would have to answer to Zillah. I wanted to see just how far the cave went back, and I discovered a smaller almost tunnel like way. It was just big enough to fit a werewolf through. At the end of the tunnel was a wall of stones. I pushed against the wall and it released it's grip with ease. I stepped out of the tunnel and saw that I had found a way through the cliff instead of having to go over it. I quickly made my way away from the cliff and back toward home. I glanced back to see the tunnel was hidden from sight. This was perfect.

He stolled through the tree's, passing along, his keen green eyes keeping a vigilant watch through the oak tree's. His senses told him something was about, but he could barley catch a scent. He knew though. Be on the watch. These were not his lands, no lands were his and yet all were in retrospect. He lowered his head, his shaggy grey and black speckled fur ruffling lighty in the breeze blowing on his muzzle. The left side of his said apendage was scarred, part of the lip and a few teeth missing. Such is life i guess right? His ears picked up the sound of runnign water and he licked his dry parched lips. He padded silently through the tree's working his way there at an angle. Finally he came across a flowing body of crisp clean water. < ahhh jus' peachy there lad!> Lowering his head he lapped up the clean goodness. damn that was just what the doctor odered. He looked around his ears up and searching as he stared at the pines across from him. Dark yet they smelled so clean and pure. HE froze as he saw a tail disapear away's away. A white tail stuck out in the mass of green. He hunkered down low and crept into the ever ebbing current and he waded out, his head barley above the surface. he waded across and shook the liquid from his coat, shaking his body in like a wave from head through his neck his body then a funny ass looking leg shimmey. He had to know what was out there. He made that choice. Not to slink away. He was in somewhat of a mood to support such behavior, an extreme rarity. Yet bordom rules all...

That night I had decided against telling Zillah just yet. I wanted to make rounds of the land again first. The night had flown by, and I woke up before sunrise, and was already half way back to the land. I was running at my full speed. It felt like I was floating in mid air. I loved it. I found my self back at the cliff, making my way for the tunnel. I glanced around to make sure no one was watching me, and slipped through the entrance of the tunnel. Soon enough the cave opened up in front of me. I decided to explore the cave in full. It actually surprised me to find out how big it really was. The best part of the cave was the internal ledge that overlooked all of the cave. This would be my place. It felt right. I was eager to make my way around the land, more slowly this time. Only this time I'd start backwards, following the river first. The river had an unusual beauty about it. The fish were skittish and fast. It was almost annoying just to watch them. I walked on, ignoring the fish. The forest was quiet besides the river and the wind that blew the trees about. I enjoyed the darkness of this forest, light always hurts my eyes. I caught the sent of deer, and was about to embark on the hunt, but I continued on through the forest. Soon the badger area was only feet away from me. I bounded onto the stepping stones, but I was stopped in my tracks. A fragrance hit me. The scent was strong, and fresh. It hadn't been here when I was first here. It was the scent of a wolf. I turned and returned to the side of the river. My nose was to the ground as I picked up the scent more. I followed the scent through the trees but it grew stale so I returned to the river. I leaped across the river not caring to take the time on the stepping stones any longer. The scent was even more strong on this side and the badger scent was almost gone. The wolf's scent was overwhelming as I followed it. It went straight to the badger hole and then around it. I realized I wasn't only following this wolf's trail but also the trail I walked the evening before. This wolf... was following me? But then the two trails parted on the boarder I had set. I stopped following the scent trail. I sat down there on the boarder. Was I willing to break the boarder to find this wolf?
I took the step over the boarder still following the scent. I trotted more quickly, ignoring the surroundings. Soon I no longer needed to follow the scent. The wolf was walking a little ways off. I sat down there on the hill just above him. The wolf was downwind so it would pick up my scent quick enough.

He padded around, snout to the ground following the scent, fresh, but still old. Was he seeing things? He followed the scent to a watefall but stopped. He felt as if he were intruding. Now it wasn't right. He turned around and padded off the way he came swiming across the river. He padded around a new path, stopping for ten or fifteen minutes to catch and devour salmon that was near the shore.<Unlucky bast'ard> he thought to himself as he devoured the hot fishy flesh. He washed his snout off and washed it down witht hat great tasting water again. He licked his lips, green hues awlays searching. He padded off, following a stale scent of a badger, circled its hole and moved on. He slept in a shallow cove int he rocks with a low over hang, long night. He didnt sleep well.. never did. But he rose realy deciding to try and find that badger for some chow. <allright Bastian... lets see what crap we can start today shall we?> he thought to himself as he started sniffign around. His hackles raised as he caught that scent, blowing down upon him from the cliffs.he looked up and there sat the white wolf.<well ill be damned... we got a stalker..> he sat down and icked his lips. She followed him this time and this was his space for now. He wasnt gonna aproah her. That was her job.

The wolf was sharp. He sensed I was there quicker then I thought he would. He raised his hackles but immediately dropped them as he saw me. Did he think he knew me enough to know I wasn't a threat? I wouldn't be so trusting to a wolf I've never met. He sat down, so he must want me to confront him. I guess it was fair as I was following his scent trail. I stood up and padded lightly down the hill. Normally I wouldn't confront wolves without Zillah being some where around but there was something about this wolf. He was smaller than most wolves I've seen. Was he even a were? I thought he was a standard gray until I neared him and saw the black patches. I took my time walking up to him, not sure if it was the smartest thing to do. But he was in my territory earlier, following my scent. So I had the right to follow his, and a confrontation was only expected. The grass was much different from the pines of my forest. I sat down in front of him about a fox lengths away. A comfortable distance. His eyes matched my own, maybe a bit darker. He had a muscular build for a wolf which threw off his actually size. He nearly matched my size, a bit smaller. It was actually very odd. He couldn't be a were... could he? I would wait for him to speak first, since I had to approach him first.

He watched her slink down the rock with ease. She was about his size, a bit bigger though that was for sure. He watched her movement's without blinking, his ears up, listening for a pack or unexpected company. he merely waited untill she stopped a little distance away. Much closer than he would like. Yet he would not get up and move, he merely stared. This was not another wolf, no this was definatly a fellow were. he could see it in the eyes. He merely stared for a few moments not breaking the silence between them.
Finally his voice echoed in her head as he blinked lazilly < so.. s starin' contes' aye? and i suppose yer pack is sneakin' up behind meh ready to tear my body limb from limb. Sorry not exactly my fancy an' all..me thinks today is not a good day for all that shit lass..> he licked the top of his snout and looked away for a brief second. His hind paws tensed u, expecting a pounce from her or another and he was merely feinting the oppurtunity, for he was waiting for it, and he'd roll em up if they tried.

We stood there, unblinking, unmoving. It was awkward. But I wouldn't be the first to talk. He looked a little tense like he was expecting something. Something that wouldn't be happening. I heaved a sigh as I grew impatient. Then my thoughts snapped to as his voice echoed around me. He's foreign. "So.. s starin' contes' aye? and i suppose yer pack is sneakin' up behind meh ready to tear my body limb from limb. Sorry not exactly my fancy an' all..me thinks today is not a good day for all that shit lass..." he spoke with his thick accent. I couldn't help but smile at this. "My pack? What pack do you think I have? You would of already known they were here. I approached you from upwind, that means if I had any kind of pack, they would have too. And do you really think I would of crossed my territory boundary just to come and fight you? That's ridiculous. I wouldn't waste my time." The amusement slowly melted away as I drew my reply to an end. Did he really think I would have sat so close if my plans were to kill him? What kind of world did he come from that would confront a wolf, and rip him limb by limb. That's absurd! I watched as his expression slowly changed. "I was merely curious." I paused to watch him closely "I wanted to know why you were following yesterday evening, and didn't bother to confront me..." I trailed the sentence as his expression became amused. What exactly was so funny?

He rose and began pacing < i follew yeh because one can nay be to carefull. no not anywhere lass. If i wanted a confrontation i would have follwed yeh all the way to yer den, but did i want that? nay. I jus wanted to see what yer upta n i figured that was yer place.. n i left prompley by the route i came." he shook his head and sat down on his haunches once more, about 20 feet to her left. " so if yer not lookin ter kill me, then was'it that yeh want.. people aint exactly friendy' without an ulterior motiv'"

Back and forth he walked. Did he not believe me? It was only common since. I chuckled under my breathe as he spook. Wanted to know what I was up to? Did people become stalkers just because they were curious of someone or because they wanted something more? In his case it was just out of curiosity... if that was even possible. Did he say he followed me all the way to my den? All the way to my den?! If he wasn't going to confront me, why would he be my stalker for that long? He finally sat down to my left. I didn't care to turn myself to face him. He obviously didn't want to be as close as I put us before. "So, if yer not lookin ter kill me, then was'it that yeh want.. people aint exactly friendy' without an ulterior motiv." He spoke to me. I furrowed my eyebrows as I tried to grasp what he was saying. I shrugged it off. "And why not? Why can't it just be to be friendly? Is there any rules or laws against it? Does there always have to be violence?" If there had to be violence then I'd leave. Walk away, before any of it happened. There wasn't a reason to shed blood, and would be a waste of my time and energy. And who knows, maybe even a waste of my life. Size doesn't say much.

He snorted" it never is jus friendly. in the end they always want ter fight... always.. ter try n gain yer trust, ter kill yeh" he shook his mane and merely stared at her. She wasnt grasping this concept. hm or maybe he had finally found what he was looking for. Maybe. Maybe this place is where the ficghting stops. maybe this place is where he could lay in the sun all day n not worry about getting jumped, or if there is a city nearby hoho even better. how he missed strollign the streets during the night, just feeling the life. He blinked" i do not wish ter fight...but if i must" he shrugged non chalantly as if he really didnt care anymore" then i must"

I narrowed my eyes and laid my ears back as he spoke with such envy and even aggression. Why would it always lead to blood shed? To death? He wasn't making any since. Was there a dark place out there where it was fight or die? Slaughter or be slaughtered? It wasn't like that here. It wouldn't ever be like that. How could he be so.. ok about all this? It's wrong. It's hunt to survive. That's the only death that is needed. The answer didn't have to be violence. I wouldn't allow myself to believe such madness. His words were so... dead... his shrug, it was like he didn't notice death. "And who is they? The ones that want to fight. Who are they?" I needed to know where he came from. I would never let such cruelty happen.

He just listened. her words were short and her movments showed confusion. so maybe this was it then. he would find out. Just not now" they... they is every body lass" he rose ans turned and started slinking away through the trees. not the social creature that was for sure as he made a hastey retreat into the gathering darkness

Was it really everyone. It wasn't me. Or Zillah. Wasn't those with the old packs that we ran away from. It wasn't anyone I had crossed. It wasn't him. Or else we'd be fighting wouldn't we? He turned his back on me and started trotting away. For one that's fought so much, would he really turn his back on one he doesn't trust. Well I wasn't done with our conversation. I followed him, catching up to him easily. He was headed back toward my forest anyways. I walked right up to his side and just walked with him like I've known him for months. I never even looked at him. I just watched the ground in front of me. I matched him stride for stride, and I was sure no matter how fast he went, he couldn't out run me, or out last me.

He walked for a moment or two after she started matching his stride. <what the fuck is this lassie's malfunction?> he thought to himself. he stopped dead and yawned" so.. definatly taking up ter followin me then? are yeh that bored?" he turned around shaking his head and headed back the way they had just come from. he was growing anoyed with their little encounter and she was testing his patience

This wolf was starting to amuse me yet I could seance his annoyance rising. How far would he go before he snapped? Taken up to following him? I chuckled under my breathe. But I didn't follow him out of boredom, I followed him out of curiosity. Where would this lone wolf go? "Oh I'm just following you because No one can be to careful. Not anywhere. I just want to see what your up to. And when I'm done with our confrontation, I'll promptly leave by the route I came." I mocked him, just without his accent. Guess it wasn't as funny as when he said it. No matter, I didn't care. I found it humorous and I turned and followed him, a little ways off now. When he didn't say anything back I tried a different meaning of conversation. "Well if you're too much of a mellow coward, then walking away would be best, wouldn't it?. I mean, I wouldn't try anything too risky if I was that small either. But you say you come from some sort of place where you're constantly fighting. Yet, it doesn't look like it. Well you know where I'm at, I'll see you around lass." Again I mocked his accent, but this time instead of following him I made my way up the hill that I first saw him at. I didn't care to watch my back I simply walked on at a moderate pace. Obviously he wasn't a threat, or he wouldn't of been the one to first walk away.
